What is Web Site Hosting?
In general, "Hosting" a web site means making that web site available to the Internet. For users
on the Internet to be able to view a web site, it must be on a computer which is permanently connected
to the Internet. This computer (called a server) hosting the site needs to be able deliver the contents
of the individual pages in the site as requested by a request from a user on the Internet.
What we offer
The two most important aspects of this hosting process are speed and reliability.
Our servers utilize many techniques to ensure that when a request is made to view your web site,
our servers will be online and able to fill that request in a timely manner.
What about email?
In addition to hosting your web page on a "Web Server", we can host your "Mail Server". Your mail
server collects email addressed to your email addresses and stores it while you are not online.
You connect to you mail server with your "email client" (eg Outlook Express, Eudora, Netscape Communicator
etc) and collect your mail when you're ready. Your mail server also delivers your out-going mail
for you.
In addition, we are able to offer "browser-based" operation of your email. This means you can access
the email waiting for you in your mail server using only a web browser (eg Internet Explorer, Netscape
Navigator etc)
